Free Federal Income Tax Preparation Online - Apply for the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC)

GET YOUR EITC BACK

WITHOUT PAYING FEES OR

PAYING SOMEONE ELSE TO FILE IT FOR YOU!

Did you know you can easily file electronically for your Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) without paying a filing fee or paying a tax preparation person to do it for you!  Here?s how:

If you do not have a home computer, go to any place you can get free use of a computer to use a simple program to file for your EITC.  The easy-to-use program asks you questions, prepares the form for you, and then e-files it!  It?s quick and it?s easy . . . . and it?s FREE.  And, it is available in English and in Spanish.

The website is www.icanefile.org.  You can also get to it by clicking on the link from the Northwest Justice Project?s homepage at www.nwjustice.org. It will tell you what information you need to e-file.  If you don?t know if you qualify for the EITC, the program will tell you.

Beginning January 16, 2007, you can also file for free on the IRS website, www.irs.gov, using the File Free program.

There is also free tax preparation available to low and moderate income individuals by volunteers at VITA sites around the state.  Find out more!

Don?t miss this opportunity to keep more of your own money!  You may be eligible for this money even if you aren?t required to file a tax return.
